1. Surah a-A’raf ayat: 60, 66, 75, 88, 90, 109, dan 127.

2. Surah Hud ayat 27.

3. Surah al-Mukminun ayat 24, dan 33.

4. Surah al-Qasas ayat 20, dan 38

5. Surah Sad ayat 6.

SUBANG JAYA, Nov 25 — It’s the weekend! Let’s rest, relax and eat nasi dagang. Hidden in Subang Jaya, Warung Terengganu is only open for business on those two days.

For the rest of the week, they are busy with catering. This eatery was started about 20 years ago by Hasmah Sulong or Kak Nah, as she is better known. Nowadays, her daughter Nadia Najwa looks after the place.
For a spicy hit, try the gulai ikan tongkol with a piece of tuna fish (left). The colourful rice grains for nasi minyak or rice with ghee (right)

We often see nasi dagang Kelantan so the Terengganu version is a rarity. Unlike the red flecked grains of beras dagang, the Terengganu version is a mix of Thai jasmine rice and glutinous rice.

Order a plate from Nadia and you’ll notice that the pearl white grains here have a slight sheen. This is thanks to the gentle stirring of fresh coconut milk after these rice grains are steamed with ginger, shallots and fenugreek seeds.
The fork tender daging kurma is a hearty dish without any santan (left). You can order ayam masak merah with your nasi minyak (right)

Each spoonful of the rice yields a lovely coconut milk fragrance with a savoury taste from the liberal use of salt. Just eating the slightly chewy rice grains on its own is already satisfying. On the side, you will be served crunchy acar timun.

Opt for the gulai ikan tongkol, if you want a traditional meal. You will be served with thick pieces of tuna fish swimming in a spicy, thin curry. Occasionally, there’s belimbing buluh added into the curry to give it a slightly tangy taste.

The menu here is limited but it’s not a deterrent to the crowds who head here for breakfast or brunch. Most of their customers usually pack home their orders. The other rice dish served here is nasi minyak or rice cooked with ghee. Choose between the daging kurma or ayam masak merahto eat with your colourful nasi minyak.

The daging kurma is a comforting bite with tender beef chunks. This version is flavourful with the use of spices like cinnamon, coriander, cloves and cardamoms. Since the style here omits santanor coconut milk, it means a lighter meal.
You can also score puding raja, a dessert from Pahang (left). You can also get pulut pagi with salted fish and roti keramat at the stall (right)

You can also select from a spread of pre-packed goodies. There’s laksam, pulut pagi, pulut cawan, nasi impit and desserts. You can also purchase the unusual roti Keramat shaped like small logs. This fluffy, deep fried snack is similar to the Chinese fried crullers or yau char kwai.

There’s also puding raja, a Pahang royal dessert made with finger bananas and prunes, swimming in custard. You can also get gleaming yellow jala emas or buah tanjung, traditional East Coast sweets. These are made from ducks’ eggs.
Customers flock here during the weekend to get their nasi dagang and nasi minyak fix

We understand from Nadia, all of these items aren’t prepared by them but a group of makciks who deliver them to their warung.

A meal here is incredibly satisfying... putting a happy start to your weekend!

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 — The Admiralty Court here has selected a nine-figure offer as the successful bid for the Equanimity superyacht that fugitive financier Low Taek Jho allegedly bought with funds misappropriated from 1MDB.

The legal team appointed to handle the transaction said today that this was after the completion of the court process for the auction, which included publicising the yacht’s availability for purchase for one month from Oct 29.

“With the mandatory phase of the judicial sale process duly completed, with the widest outreach and publicity possible in the superyacht market, and to the trading and business community generally, the Sheriff will be seeking the necessary orders from the court to commence the second phase of this judicial sale, by private treaty, for closing of the sale no later than 31 March 2019.

“The nine-digit asking price will be available on application, once approval of the court is obtained, and will commensurate with a 4.5-year-old Oceano-built luxury yacht, with the specifications of the Equanimity, as she lies,” the team said in a statement.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 ― Fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim's left lung has shown early signs of recovery while his heart is functioning well on its own, according to an update from the National Heart Institute (IJN) today.

The 24-year-old suffered injuries after being assaulted during the temple fracas in Subang Jaya last week.

IJN said he had been making good progress since his life support system was changed to Veno-Venous ECMO system on December 2.
“He requires less oxygen and ventilator support since last night. He is also tolerating his feeding via a naso-gastric tube which provides almost 90 per cent of his daily requirements,” the statement said.

Nevertheless, IJN said Muhammad Adib's kidney still required support from a dialysis machine although his renal blood parameters had improved.
“He's now undergoing pulmonary rehabilitation and limb exercise with our physiotherapist,” it said.
IJN said Muhammad Adib and his parents thanked all Malaysians for the support and encouragement including prayers for his recovery.
It was reported that Muhammad Adib was assaulted on November 27 by a group of unknown persons during in a firefighting operation near the temple. ― Bernama

A WAY FOR TAIB MAHMUD TO ‘SURRENDER’ – IF UMNO CAN DIE, WHY NOT PBB? BRACE FOR EXODUS OF PBB LEADERS INTO SARAWAK BERSATU – ANALYST

PETALING JAYA: Political analyst Kamarul Zaman Yusoff has speculated that PPBM’s presence in Sarawak may attract some PBB leaders into Pakatan Harapan. Commenting on last weekend’s launching of PPBM Sarawak, he said PBB had, for some time, been showing positive interest in Pakatan Harapan. Now that PPBM had gone into the state, he said, some PPB figures “and other interested parties” could be joining PH through the Malay-centric party. However, he added that this may cause some tension in Sarawak PH, which is dominated by DAP and PKR, many of whose leaders have refused to work with ... lagi »

WHILE Low Taek Jho is the best-known name linked to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal, details of four other individuals jointly charged with the Penang-born businessman at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court yesterday remain sketchy. The four – Tang Keng Chee, Loo Ai Swan, Geh Choh Heng and Tan Kim Loong – may not enjoy Low’s infamy but have been on the wanted list of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for a long time. The hunt for the four individuals began in June when the MACC sought them for questioning over investigations into the embezzlement of 1MDB funds. And a... lagi »

Is Hadi an extremist? Guan Eng asks as PAS chief refuses to halt anti-ICERD rally Published 2 hours ago on 05 December 2018 By Debra Chong

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 — Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang is showing his true colours by refusing to call off the rally against the UN anti-discrimination treaty that Malaysia won’t be ratifying, the DAP said today.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the PAS president has been issuing statements with inaccurate facts that also have a clear racial and religious slant, while being ignorant of the available data and the government’s confirmation that it is not ratifying the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).

“Clearly this ICERD demonstration is no longer about protesting against ICERD, since the ICERD issue is no longer relevant, but about the political survival and making political capital for PAS.
“DAP will leave it to Malaysians to decide, whether Hadi, in making provocative statements pitting Muslims against non-Muslims, is extremist or responsible,” Lim, who is also finance minister, said in a statement.
He pointed out that there are 62 Muslim MPs in Pakatan Harapan (PH) instead of 58 as claimed by Hadi.
Lim added that the number of Bumiputera MPs in PH also outnumbered the non-Bumiputera 70 to 58, negating Hadi’s attempt to portray lower representation in the lawmaking House for the country’s largest ethnic and religious majority.
“Does Hadi consider non-Muslim Bumiputeras from Sabah and Sarawak as not equal to the status of Bumiputeras, just because they are not Muslims?” the Bagan MP asked.
Lim added that the Muslim and non-Muslim representation in the Cabinet is also significantly in favour of the former, with 17 Muslim ministers to 11 non-Muslim ministers, to ensure that Islamic interests are well protected.
He suggested Hadi use the December 8 assembly to protest all financial scandals that took place during the previous Umno and Barisan Nasional leadership, if the latter truly intends to safeguard Bumiputera and Muslim interests.
“I recommend that the PAS president use this occasion to protest against all financial scandals which took place under the leadership of Umno-led Barisan Nasional, rather than distract the country from these financial scandals and corruption.
“This would be the right thing to do for all Malaysians, both for Muslims as well as for non-Muslims.”
The latest financial scandal to emerge that implicated the previous BN administration concerned a missing RM4 billion in deposits from Tabung Haji, a savings fund with nine million contributors who are all Muslims and which is meant to finance their mandatory Haj pilgrimage to Mecca.

Bekas peguam negara bakal didakwa?
Oleh Siti Nur Mas Erah Amran cnews@nstp.com.my

“Kami selalu terfikir bolehkah peguam negara didakwa?
Mohamed Hanipa berkata, beberapa perubahan besar sudah dilaksanakan sejak pelantikan peguam negara baharu, termasuk pendakwaan bekas Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
