[ETS 'Platinum' Train Experience] KL-Penang | Less Than 4 Hours

A review I made on board the Electric Train Service (ETS) provided by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB). The ETS Platinum is a super fast train journey plying between Kuala Lumpur & Penang and Kuala Lumpur & Padang Besar. This train service only stops at major city stations namely Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Taiping, Parit Buntar and Bukit Mertajam Stations, thus achieving the 3 Hours 35 Minutes travelling time between KL & Penang with the usage of the high-speed Class 91 or Class 93 Electric Train Sets Six-Car EMU on the Electrified Double-Track. The ETS Platinum is perfecr for business travelers as well as passengers who wish to spend a day at another city. Check out the journey I took. Comments and feedbacks are welcomed!

Train travel from Bangkok Thailand to Penang Malaysia following a route through Padang Besar, on the Malaysian border, and onto Butterworth for a Ferry to Georgetown Penang in Malaysia. Full guide here http://wp.me/p2OQPP-CT). It starts on Bangkok's MRT Underground travelling to Hua Lamphong Station and the railway ticketing office. The entire journey takes more than 24 hours and includes a sleeper train for travel through the South of Thailand. Always go for the lower berth on Thai trains. Then there's border control, VISA free entry to Malaysia and a tranfer to the new electrical train lines in Malaysia (KMT Komuter). Lastly is a short example of the amazing food and nightlife in Georgetown, Penang. It's the perfect destination for a cheap and easy VISA run. TGV Italy France Driver's eye view PREVIEW

Diterbitkan pada 15 Mac 2016

www.video125.co.uk This is a Driver’s eye view filmed on board an international train service, TGV 9244 travelling from Milan to Paris through the Alps. We board the TGV, 90 minutes into its journey at the brand new station of Turin Porta Susa, for a spectacular ride through the Alpine scenery. On-board cameras show the view of the road and the driver working with the Italian SCMT train speed control system. The climb towards the Alpine backdrop is relentless, starting gently at first but then increasing to as steep as 1 in 33, close to the maximum for conventional adhesion based railway vehicles. The summit is reached inside the 8 1/2 mile long Fréjus tunnel, the first through the Alps opened in 1871 at the time the longest tunnel in the world! With tunnel lighting, we can actually see it as the driver does. Once in France we continue with the Italian crew and Italian signalling until we reach Modane. Now the French crew takes over and we descend, at a similar rate to the climb, towards Chambery in South East France. En route we learn of France’s worst ever train disaster and see where 700 soldiers perished on board a runaway train. Filmed last summer, this feat of incredible engineering, coupled with the spectacular Alpine scenery, is a journey not to be missed. Available on DVD and in high definition on Blu-ray disc. The narrator is Jonathan Kydd while on both the DVD and Blu-ray discs, commentary is also available in Italian, French and German. There is even the option of no commentary at all – just the sounds of the TGV Réseau. Running time is 123 minutes

Canada: Trains through Black Canyon - British Columbia

Diterbitkan pada 21 Apr 2017

My last full day in Canada before heading back to Australia via the USA, I visited what happened to become my favorite railfan location in Canada. Black Canyon in British Columbia, just south of Ashcroft. Standing on the cliff, you can see trains for a significant distance coming from Ashcroft.
